Privacy Policy | My Speaking Score

This Privacy Policy explains what My Speaking Score ("MSS") collects when you use the service, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is maintained by the MSS team and reflects controls currently enabled in the product.

1. What we collect

Account data: email, name, native language, and target test date you provide at signup.
Practice content: audio recordings, transcripts, generated scores, and coach conversations from your attempts.
Billing data: subscription tier, credit balance, and Stripe customer identifiers. Card details are handled by Stripe — we never see them.
Technical data: log entries, device/browser info, and basic analytics needed to keep the service reliable.

2. Why we use it

To deliver scoring, coaching, history, and the shareable attempt links you create.
To process payments and apply your credit balance.
To improve quality, detect abuse, and meet legal obligations.

3. Processors we rely on

The service runs on infrastructure and APIs provided by these subprocessors:

Lovable Cloud — application hosting, database, authentication, and storage.
Stripe — payments and subscription billing.
Lovable AI Gateway / OpenAI — scoring and voice coach inference.
Resend — transactional email (receipts, password resets).

4. Retention

Attempt audio and transcripts are retained while your account is active so you can review your progress. You can delete an attempt at any time from the Progress page; deletion removes the audio and transcript within 30 days. Closing your account removes your profile and practice content within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or accounting reasons (typically 7 years for billing).

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (EEA, UK, California, and others) you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@myspeakingscore.com. We respond within 30 days.

6. Cookies

We use first-party cookies strictly necessary for login sessions and a minimal amount of analytics to count visits and detect errors. We do not use advertising cookies.

7. Children

MSS is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the EEA / UK). If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

8. International transfers

Our processors may store and process data in the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for cross-border transfers.
